Artistic Excursions – a blog about my art journey

Since joining Centrepieces (an MH Arts Charity) four years ago and acquiring my own art space, my creative output has increased exponentially.

When I first joined Centrepieces and acquired my own little art space in Sidcup, I had no idea what to expect. Little did I know that it would be the start of an exciting journey of creative exploration and growth. The building houses art spaces for twenty amateur artists and is a great place for people to explore their creativity and to make connections with like-minded people.

Since joining, I have attended numerous art workshops (sometimes two or three a week!) run on the premises by volunteer tutors.  This has pushed my creative limits and encouraged me to try new things. From abstract art to stencilling in the style of Banksy, I have been able to discover different artistic styles and learn how to use different media such as pastels, charcoal, watercolour, and acrylics.

Each one of these workshops has inspired me to explore my creativity in new directions, and I have been able to produce a wide variety of artwork – some of which I have sold at Exhibitions organised by Centrepieces at Hall Place, Bexley. My art space has also allowed me to experiment with new techniques and styles without the fear of failure or judgement.

It has been an amazing experience, and I am grateful for the opportunity to explore my creative side and to have a safe space to do so.
